Artist Information
Color animates my soul. Painting in watercolor began for me several years ago as therapy after leaving my “regular” job due to disability. I soon found art more satisfying than watching daytime television. Painting became the way for me to listen to my inner voices.
My painting style varies from fairly realistic depictions to bold, colorful renditions and abstracts. A juried member of the Littleton Fine Arts Guild in Colorado, my paintings hang in Denver area galleries including The Depot Art Gallery in Littleton and Grace Gallery in the Art District on Santa Fe Drive. As a Signature member of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild, my work is also displayed in Tucson and Tubac, AZ.
Originally from New Orleans, I have also spent time in Colorado, Arizona and Panama. Travels in years past have taken me to many US states, as well as Africa, France, Canada and Mexico. The colors, textures, flora and fauna of these locations vary seasonally and continue to appeal to me. Indeed, I find inspiration in almost anything “organic.” Now I share a home with my husband Steve who is the nicest man in the world. We also have a very peculiar cat with no interest in art and who refuses to take phone messages.
